ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Great Success College of Health Sciences and Technology Gwada, was established in the year 2015 in Gwada town, Shiroro local government area of Niger State, Nigeria. Its emergence was born out of its present C.E.O.’s quest for primary health care delivery to be brought to the doorsteps of the everyday people more especially the rural dwellers. This dream was fueled by unflinching moral support from community leaders, youth groups, religious and political leaders
FUNDING
The college is being developed and is sustained by funds that emanate from the proprietor, Bank loans and fund generated locally from its services including medical diagnostic and clinical services and tuition fees.
SERVICES AND OPORTUNITIES
The college offer a lot of humanitarian services including free medical counselling to its host community and Scholarship awards to the less privileged in communities spread across Niger state. The college offers business opportunities to its host community where small scale businesses have sprung up and have taken roots both within its premises at its community market and beyond.
DIVERSITY
The college has a diverse history of all-inclusiveness where individuals from different ethnic groups, different socio-cultural backgrounds, different religious affiliations and geographical locations are integrated and featuring either as staff or students. This diversity brings out some beauty in the college community.
The college has signed memorandum of understanding with health facilities belonging to the federal, state and local governments across the Niger State. These memoranda of understanding provides the college with sufficient leverage to extend its training activities beyond its premises. The college’s training programmes are being overseen by regulatory bodies belonging to the federal government of Nigeria. All training programmes are accredited.
UTILITIES
The college has a multifaceted power supply system to guard against power cuts and interruptions of its training activities where it is connected to the national power grid system and an automatic link to a solar power supply system in situation of power failure. A powerful diesel-powered electric power generating set has also been installed. The college has a sufficient and effective water supply system which provides the basic water needs of the college community
RECREATION
The college is popular in its recreational and sporting facilities and has been active in hosting and participating in inter-college sport competitions. Its amusement garden is glamorous and welcoming. Annual display of cultures as featured during Students’ week are a tourist attraction contributing to boosting tourism in Niger State.
THE PEOPLE
The host community consisting of predominantly Gbagyis in peaceful co-existence with other tribes such as Nupes, Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas and a host of others are a tolerant and hospitable people who are also peace loving and industrious. Their arms are open to visitors and strangers.
